Idea Proposal

My current idea is to take photographs of people I know from shoulders upwards and looking into the camera with a blank face. The blank face makes for a more serious looking image, while being shot form the shoulders upwards draws the viewer's attention to the face more than the body, and feels natural to look at.
At the moment I am unsure whether to have the subjects at work or in a home environment, for the titles will be what they wanted to be when they were younger, and perhaps what they consider their full time job as now.
I will have 8-10 of these, and so the atmosphere of each image will differ depending on how their childhood dreams played out into real life; for example, my father works on an alpaca farm and when he was younger he wanted to work on a farm and so the image will have a rather humble feel. A friend of mine wanted to be a tooth fairy, and so there will be an essence of humour there too, whereas often it will feel quite sad; aspiring truck drivers turned cleaners and other jobs that don't quite match to the excitability of what they wanted to be when they were younger.
This series will very much be about growing up, maturing and losing those dreams once we become realistic and learn how the world works.
I will start my shooting with a metz because it's much more portable than the other forms of lighting, and if I like the results I will probably stick with that. If not, i'll experiment further with different lighting in order to create an affect i like.
I will be aiming for more high key lighting, with little or no mystery. I want the subject to be well lit and to have nothing hiding, an exposed image of themselves. I want the audience to think they're looking at the 'real' subject and feel a connection between them.
